
Plum Bun
Fauset's second novel “Plum Bun” explores the world of passing for white in the early 1900s. Angela and Virginia are sisters growing up in Philadelphia. Angela is exceptionally light skinned. So much so that she can pass as white. Virginia is a bronze skinned Black woman. “Plum Bun” explores the consequences of Angela's decision to move to New York and pass as a white woman.
